David Bowyer is the Chief Executive Officer and President, for Ingenious Packaging Group, LLC. In this capacity, he oversees the enterprise comprised of 180 employees and is focused on using his leadership experience across multiple varied markets in the label and packaging industry. Bowyer is the founding member of IngeniousPKG and he has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions. Bowyer’s label printing experience through branding and printing expands beyond the label industry and he has been an advisory senior executive and consultant to the world’s leading packaging companies that focus on other key industries such as pharmaceutical packaging, cosmetics and household products such as shampoos, cleaning products and personal care as well as the wine and spirits business.
Bowyer began his career in 1981 with Harland’s of Hull in his native country, England. Harland’s is a global leader and David excelled into management leading the pharmaceutical division before he moved to the U.S. He served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Landmark Label from 1991 to 1998. Bowyer then became the founding member of Livermore, CA based Vintage 99 Label where he served as CEO and President until 2007. After Bowyer sold his interest in Vintage 99 he has held senior executive team positions that focus on merger and acquisitions with companies like York Label, Staples and CCL Label, the world’s largest public label printing company. From 2007 to 2014 Bowyer was a leading consultant in numerous label company acquisitions in his various consulting roles. In 2014 Bowyer began making his own acquisitions first by acquiring LabelOne Connect in Portland, OR then Bonham Label in Livermore, CA. Both Bonham and LabelOne Connect had over 30 years in the label business and the acquisitions coincided in July 2014. In late 2014 Bowyer acquired Tapp Label Company another leading label company to the wines and spirits industry and he took on the well-branded Tapp Label Company name. Metro Label is the most recent acquisition bringing a wide variety of depth to new markets, talent and cutting-edge technology.
Involved in public print and graphics education, Bowyer participates in an advisory capacity for the CA university programs at both Fresno State University and San Luis Obispo’s Cal Poly University. Bowyer remains active in public and industry relations. He currently sits on the Customer Council Board for Avery Dennison the world’s leading supplier of pressure sensitive paper. Bowyer is also a well-known public speaker in the label industry and is a member of the Tag and Label Manufacturers Industry.
Bowyer earned his Bachelor’s of Commerce and Administration at the University of Leeds, England. Bowyer volunteers and helps to raise money for the public schools in his hometown St. Helena, CA where he lives with his wife and children.
